Editorial methodology

A comparison method designed around usable output.

Feature lists are easy to copy. Useful comparisons require repeatable source files, visible criteria and honest reporting of limitations.

Our review process

Our method is designed to turn product research into findings a buyer can inspect, question and apply to a real workflow.

Research

We define the buyer problem, review official documentation and identify claims that need practical verification.

Hands-on testing

Comparable products receive consistent source files, recorded conditions and the same core tasks. Results will only be described after the work is completed.

Compare

We examine usable output, correction time, workflow effort, limits and failure cases rather than comparing feature lists alone.

Write findings

Observed facts are separated from editorial judgement. Conditions, uncertainty and product limitations remain visible.

Regular updates

Material product changes are checked over time, and future tested articles will show when their evidence was collected.

Commissions never buy a recommendation.

Products are never recommended because they pay commissions. There are currently no affiliate links on ChooseMyAI. If commercial relationships are introduced, they will be disclosed and kept separate from testing and editorial conclusions.

Evaluation principles

  • Use the same source files across comparable products
  • Describe test conditions and plan limitations
  • Separate observed output from editorial judgement
  • Publish failures and awkward results, not only successes
  • Update conclusions when products materially change
  • Disclose any commercial relationship visibly

Planned measurements

  • Number of candidate clips produced
  • Number that communicate a coherent standalone idea
  • Human editing time per approved clip
  • Caption accuracy for names and specialist terms
  • Speaker framing and layout errors
  • Export restrictions, watermarks and processing limits
  • Subscription cost relative to usable output

Ratings and recommendations

ChooseMyAI does not currently publish product ratings. A rating system will only be introduced if it can be applied consistently and explained in enough detail for readers to challenge it.
